The Stirling Foundation partnered with Empower Mali to help expand access to clean water in rural communities across Mali. The initiative introduced solar-powered wells that provide reliable, pre-pumped water stored in elevated tanks, creating a sustainable source of safe drinking water for nearby villages. In its initial phase, five communities now benefit from daily access to clean water managed by trained local water committees. By reducing waterborne disease and easing the burden of water collection, particularly for women and girls, the project strengthens community health, supports education, and helps families devote more time to productive and economic activities.
