Diplomacy of the Heart Conference Helps Students, Faculty & Leaders Explore Pathways to Peace
Eurasia & Middle East
A modern-day Silk Road with Diplomacy of the Heart shaping pathways to peace
The Diplomacy of the Heart Conference convenes government, civic, and faith leaders alongside university students and faculty from 16 countries to explore the science of peace and the role people-to-people ties can play in achieving greater cooperation and harmony across ethnic, national, and/or religious identities. Combining thought leadership, diplomatic engagement, and research with hands-on cross-cultural exchanges, Diplomacy of the Heart encourages participants to hold true to the belief systems and cultures that are foundational to our unique identities while also increasing respect and empathy for those whose beliefs and interests may differ. By utilizing The Stirling Foundation’s global network and support, Diplomacy of the Heart facilitates cooperation and builds lasting, positive relationships that lead to new initiatives throughout the Middle East and Eurasia. Academic panels, student presentations, policy briefings, and moderated discussions teach about the transformative power of connection, empathy, and understanding in bridging divides, developing sound policy, fostering peace, and unlocking human potential.
