The Conference on Strengthening Families in Doha marked the 30th anniversary of the International Year of the Family and brought together global leaders, researchers, and practitioners to examine the evolving challenges facing families around the world. The Stirling Foundation supported the gathering by helping identify and invite global leaders and experts, encouraging deeper collaboration among government leaders, policymakers, and civil society organizations. Throughout the conference, participants shared research, exchanged practical insights, and explored new approaches to promoting family well‑being across diverse contexts. The concluding session, presided over by Qatar Foundation Vice Chair Sheikha Hind Al Thani, unveiled the “Doha Call to Action” composed of over 30 recommendations, including enhancing research and evidence-based approaches to guide family policies with the shared goal of keeping the family as the fundamental pillar of society.
