Uzbek Doctors & Healthcare Leaders Learn Best Practices in Early Detection of Women’s Cancers
Uzbekistan
“The opportunity to visit world leading cancer hospitals in Utah not only improves clinical care for Uzbek women, but it also provides an opportunity for policy leaders to shape healthcare for women throughout the country.”
- Aziza, strategic reform policy leader
A delegation of doctors and healthcare policy leaders visited Utah on a technical exchange to learn best practices for the early detection of women’s cancers. These Uzbek leaders received hands-on training and observed medical procedures at a world-leading cancer institute in a program developed by University of Utah doctors, who have previously conducted simliar trainings in Central Asia. The delegation also engaged with research centers, state officials, and global non-profits to explore effective strategies for clinical care and healthcare policy. Following the visit, the Uzbek team is developing a pilot project to implement these approaches regionally, with support from The Stirling Foundation and other global partners.
